Cordless Electric Wet and Dry Portable Car Vacuum Cleaner

Cordless Wet & Dry Handheld Car Vacuum Cleaner — a handheld cordless vacuum that deals with both dry debris and liquid spills, using a brushless motor to produce 101–120 air watts of suction. It is built for the car first — 0.5 to 1 kg, 30 to 60 minutes of running time, and four to six nozzles for seat rails, air vents and boot corners.

Why it is worth fitting

Cleaning a car properly is mostly a problem of reach. A workshop vacuum has the suction but not the access; a brush and a cloth cannot get sand out of the seat rails or crumbs out of the vent slats. This is a handheld unit designed around the places that actually get dirty: narrow crevice tools for the rails and the gap beside the seats, a brush head for the carpets and the boot, and a body light enough to hold above your head while you do the headlining. Being cordless means it works anywhere, and being wet-and-dry means a spilled drink or a wet footwell is a job for the same tool rather than a roll of paper towels.

Key features

• Wet and dry pickup — handles spilled drinks as well as crumbs, sand and pet hair
• Brushless motor producing 101–120 air watts of suction power
• 30 to 60 minutes of runtime on a charge, with a 3 to 5 hour recharge time
• Washable HEPA filter that traps fine dust and allergens instead of blowing them back out
• Bagless design — empty the dust container straight into a bin
• Supplied with 4 to 6 nozzles, including crevice and brush tools
• Light and genuinely portable at 0.5 to 1 kg, so it can be held overhead
• Suitable for the car, garage, home, office and caravan, not only for vehicles

Specifications

Will it fit?

Not vehicle-specific. It works in any car regardless of make or model, and the same unit is suitable for the garage, household, office or caravan, which makes it useful well beyond the car.

Fitting and first use

Charge it fully before first use — a full charge takes three to five hours. Fit the crevice tool for seat rails, the gap beside the seats and the boot edges; use the brush head on carpets and mats. For a wet spill, remove the brush attachment first and vacuum the liquid directly, then empty and rinse the container straight afterwards. Empty the dust container before it is full, because a packed container cuts suction noticeably.

Care and maintenance

Rinse the HEPA filter under running water and let it dry completely — at least 24 hours — before refitting. A damp filter is the most common reason for a musty smell coming out of the exhaust. Empty the container after every use rather than storing it full. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth, never immerse the motor body in water, and store the nozzle attachments with the unit so they do not go missing.

Frequently asked questions

How much can it actually pick up on one charge?

Runtime is rated at 30 to 60 minutes depending on which power setting is used. In practice that is enough for a thorough interior clean of a family car on one charge.

Can it really handle a liquid spill?

It is a wet-and-dry unit, so yes — remove the brush head and vacuum the liquid directly. Empty and rinse the container immediately afterwards so nothing sits in it.

Is the filter washable or does it need replacing?

It is a washable HEPA filter, so it can be rinsed repeatedly. Let it dry thoroughly before refitting.

How loud is it?

It uses a brushless motor, which is generally quieter and longer-lived than a conventional brushed motor. It is a handheld vacuum rather than a quiet appliance, but it is not uncomfortable at close range.
