Will it fit?
Universal screw-in fitting, but the thread pitch differs between vehicle makers, so measure the thread on the old mast or check the thread of the mounting base before ordering. The longer lengths — 107 cm and 124 cm — suit off-road vehicles and trucks, but check they will clear a garage door, a car park height barrier and a car wash, because a tall whip is easy to forget about.
Fitting and first use
Unscrew the old mast from its base and check the thread on the new mast matches before going further. Screw the new mast in by hand, turning it gently until it seats — if it becomes stiff, stop and check the thread rather than forcing it, because cross-threading a fibreglass mast is the usual way one gets destroyed during fitting. Tighten it finger-tight only. Check the base grommet is still in good order, since a perished grommet will let water into the roof and a loose base is what causes a mast to work out over time.
