1080P Dual Lens Mirror-Mounted Car Dash Cam — a mirror-mounted dual-lens dash camera that records the road ahead and behind at the same time, so a rear-end collision is captured as evidence rather than one driver’s account against another’s. Recording is continuous and looped, so the oldest footage is overwritten automatically and you never have to remember to start it.
Why it is worth fitting
A dash camera is bought for one uncomfortable moment: the argument after a collision about who was at fault. A front-only camera settles a great deal, but a rear-end impact — one of the most common and most disputed types of claim — happens behind you, where a single forward-facing lens sees nothing. This unit records both directions simultaneously, and it does so from a mount over the existing rear-view mirror, which keeps it out of the driver’s line of sight and out of the way of an inspection. Loop recording means there is nothing to operate: it starts with the ignition, fills the card, then overwrites the oldest clips, so the most recent footage is always the footage you keep.

Will it fit?
Universal fitment. It mounts by clipping over the existing rear-view mirror and takes power from the 12 V accessory socket, so no model-specific bracket is required and nothing is permanently modified. The rear camera is routed to the back of the vehicle; on an estate, hatchback or SUV check that the cable length reaches before ordering.
Fitting and first use
Clip the unit over the rear-view mirror and set it so it does not obstruct your view. Route the power cable down the edge of the windscreen and behind the trim to the 12 V socket, tucking it into the headlining gap rather than letting it hang. The rear camera cable follows the same route along the top of the doors and through the tailgate. Insert a memory card (up to 32 GB) and format it in the camera before the first recording. Set the date and time immediately — footage without a correct timestamp is far less useful if it is ever needed as evidence.
Care and maintenance
Format the memory card in the camera every few weeks. Cards wear out through constant rewriting, and a card that has failed is the single most common reason a dash camera stops recording — replace it rather than assuming the camera is broken. Use a card rated for continuous high-speed writing rather than a standard one. Clean the lenses with a microfibre cloth, and in very hot weather consider taking the camera off the screen if the car is parked in direct sun for long periods.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the footage last before it is overwritten?
It depends on the card size and how much you drive. With a 32 GB card recording front and rear, expect roughly a few hours of driving before the oldest clips start being replaced. Keep a spare card if you want to preserve a specific journey.
Does it record when the car is parked?
It records from the vehicle’s 12 V supply, so unless your socket remains live when the ignition is off, parking surveillance is limited. Continuous parking recording would need a dedicated hardwire kit.
Is the footage usable as evidence?
A correctly time-stamped continuous recording of what happened is considerably stronger than a verbal account. Keep the original file unedited on the card, and check your local rules on how recordings may be used and retained.
Can I use the rear camera as a reversing camera?
Yes, a reverse-camera input is supported, though the rear lens is positioned for recording rather than as a dedicated reversing camera. For a dedicated reversing view, a separate reversing camera gives a better result.
